looking back on 2018, there was one trainer that stood apart as the most hyped and in-demand, even compared with all those Yeezys and Off-White’s. Of course, it was Sean Wotherspoon’s hybrid silhouette and the winner of Nike’s vote forward campaign.

Launched to coincide with the 2018 Air Max Day celebrations, the Air Max 1/97 was a frenzied release leaving many with nothing but an L. Not surprisingly, resell prices shot through the roof. Currently, you’d have to part with more than £600 to own a pair. It almost seems like a small price to pay for a design that will forever sit in the sneaker hall of fame. but before you consider taking out a bank loan, it might be worth holding off. 2019 is the year that Sean Wotherspoon unveils his second major collaboration with Nike!

According to @modernnotoriety, the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97 2.0 is hitting shelves later this year. The shoe is thought to boast a near identical construct with a corduroy crafted upper and Velcro tongue branding. but unlike the more colourful original, this pair opts for a predominantly blue coloured upper. Hits of yellow are visible to the velvet inner lining and the same colour of red features to the Air Unit.

An exact release date isn’t yet known but sources are suggesting “late 2019”. If the rumours turn out to be true, the Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 1/97 2.0 could be this year’s greatest release!
